Mel Bartley Fitness is delighted to reveal it has added physiotherapy and new Sunday personal training sessions to its growing list of health and fitness services.

The fresh additions for 2020 bring two new faces to the team, Physiotherapist Nathan Briganti and Personal Trainer Karen Harris.

Physio Nathan, who is 36 and from Clitheroe is poised to open his treatment room at the Mel Bartley Fitness studio on Dollywagon Way, South Rings in January.

Nathan of ‘Briganti Physio’ was a rugby union rehab therapist and also travelling physio for the Irish rugby league team before working in Washington DC to further his experience for four years. Here, he became a lead orthopedic, a consultant to the Philadelphia Eagles and also specialised in working with amputees at the Walter Read Military Clinic. Nathan

More recently Nathan worked closer to home in a private practice at Nuffield Health, Walton-le-Dale. He has a master’s in advanced physiotherapy practice, physiotherapy and strength and conditioning. He is a neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapist meaning he can treat all areas of the body and help people climb a mountain or simply a flight of stairs – all depending on their needs.

He commented: “I’m really pleased to be launching my own venture at Mel Bartley Fitness. It means that more people in the area will have access to injury prevention, recovery and rehab expertise.

“It’s the perfect location to educate people on the effects of different health-related needs too. Mel Bartley Fitness clients will be able to attain a special discount on treatments making us great partners.”

Meanwhile, Karen Harris has been appointed as personal trainer opening up further opportunities for more clients to train.

Karen, who is 45 years old and from Leyland, will join Mel Bartley Fitness on Sundays. During the week she works as OD and Transformation Manager at Chorley Council and is also a mum of two boys. Karen has trained with Mel Bartley for the last two years. She was prompted to take up exercise to improve her physical and mental health. Karen found that this also boosted her confidence and it wasn’t long before she took on a big challenge in the form of a half marathon. This ignited a passion for gaining further knowledge within the field of physical exercise and an urge to become a personal trainer so she could help others.

Karen said: “When I trained with Mel, I realised that I wanted to help more people achieve their goals. I had first-hand experience of the positive impact the sessions were having on my overall health and fitness and so I started my journey to become a fully qualified personal trainer.

“I’m delighted to join the team and help people change their lifestyles in order to be fitter and healthier both on the inside and outside.”

Mel Bartley Fitness has only been open 18 months and in that time it has grown to meet demand, appointing George Davies who runs PT sessions and the hugely popular bootcamp. Mel Bartley Fitness has also bolstered its evening offer with yoga sessions which attract people from Leyland, Preston and Chorley.

Owner of Mel Bartley Fitness, Mel, said: “This friendly and experienced duo have really added a new dimension to our business.

“Welcoming Nathan as physiotherapist allows us to become full-service and by adding Karen to the team we can be confident that people who are pressed for time during the week can now train at the weekend.

“We are all really excited to help people with their fitness journeys in the new year, whether they are completely new to exercise or require specialist training programmes. Give us a call to book in your free consultation today.”
